af3955c | 2026-09-13 | Hurt toddlers and the nurse's office; toddler hunger removed; Bob's catch is now a jumpscare. Toddlers no longer get hungry at all — there's no hunger stat, no feeding them, and no hunger crying; the "Snack time for the little ones" job is gone, and the "Hungry night" modifier is replaced by Echoes (every noise level ×1.35). Instead, about 25% of toddlers now spawn hurt: a red cross over their head, a scrape on the knee, they sit still and whimper every 12–20 seconds, and they show red on the map. A hurt toddler can't be kept safe in your classroom until you carry them to a nurse's office and win a new minigame — wipe the scrape (alternating A/D), then stick two plasters on (Space) — worth +60 score; works in co-op, with the carrying player playing the game and the host confirming it. New job: "Patch someone up." Separately, Bob catching you is now a jumpscare too: his face lunges at the camera with his scream for about a second before you actually wake up in Lost & Found (still ~70% of your bag items taken, 28 damage, fear to 100) — matching how Grump's catch has always worked. The player's own hunger (the food stat) is unchanged. |
c0bc4ce | 2026-09-13 | Door and interaction overhaul, one connection per device, playground fixes. Interaction was rewritten: the prompt is now exactly what your crosshair points at — the nearest thing along your line of sight within reach — and walls and closed doors block it, so nothing can be used through a wall any more (lockers could be, from the room behind). Look down to grab things at your feet. The card boy no longer freezes every prompt while he talks. Doors: walking into an unlocked door pushes it open, doors refuse to close on anyone standing in them, and the host checks joiners' door changes. Co-op: one body per device — a double-clicked Join or a second tab used to create a duplicate player (double loot, damage on a ghost body); now the old connection is closed with a message, and a host can't join their own room. The generator switching on or off reaches joiners instantly. Outside: walls facing the playground had no outside face, so from the playground you could see straight into the halls with doors floating in mid-air; and round things (tree canopies, bins) were built inside-out and rendered black. Both fixed. |
82362e5 | 2026-09-13 | AI and pathfinding overhaul; Bob stays out of lit rooms. Bob used to walk into lit rooms to switch their lights off — even with you inside. Now he never enters a lit room, backs out if the lights come on around him, and only turns lights off from the doorway of rooms nobody is in, so a lit room really is safe from him. He also patrols the rooms he hasn't checked recently, aims ahead of a running target, searches the hiding spots nearest a noise, hears less through walls and ignores noises inside lit rooms. Everyone who walks (Bob, Grump, the kids, Jerry, the card boy) uses new pathfinding: eight directions without cutting wall corners, straight-line paths instead of zig-zags, stepping round furniture, and freeing themselves if stuck — in testing 240 of 240 trips across the school arrived (was 121 of 125). Also: game files are now stamped with a version so browsers can't mix old cached files with new ones, and co-op refuses to join players on different versions (the menu shows your version). |
4606670 | 2026-09-13 | Co-op doors fixed. Door and light states are now re-sent with every host update, so a joiner who missed a door change is corrected within a second. Joining a host on a different game version (which builds a slightly different school, so doors don't match) now shows a message telling both players to refresh. |
81471bd | 2026-09-13 | Playground, staff key, and Jerry's jump rope line. A tree could be planted right outside a playground door, blocking the way in — trees now never grow in front of a playground door. Unlocking the staff room with a staff key is now a short hold of E (half a second, and the prompt says "Unlock with your staff key"); you can also select the key and press R next to a locked door. Playground doors locked at night now say "Locked for the night" and that they open again in the morning. Jerry has a new recorded line for Jump Rope: "Jump rope time! One, two, three, four, five, six — let's go!" The game now has 14 voice lines, and every one can be played on Voice Lines. |
47750e5 | 2026-09-13 | No more getting stuck in furniture or flung through walls. Climbing out of some hiding spots (storage-room crates, playground slides, the lost property bin) could leave you standing inside the furniture itself. Walking from there snapped you to the far side of whatever you were inside, which could throw you 10–20 metres through walls — into gaps between rooms or right outside the building, where doors could not be reached or opened. Leaving a hiding spot now always puts you on open floor on the right side of the walls; movement can never jump further than a single step; if you are ever wedged inside something you slide out, and if you are ever outside the building you are put back inside. Bob also now drops you on open floor in Lost & Found instead of on top of the furniture. |
213863d | 2026-09-13 | Doors work while carrying a toddler. Picking up a kid used to replace every prompt with "Put them down", so no door could be opened and no light switch used until you set them down again — it looked like doors (such as the boiler room's) randomly refusing to open. Doors, light switches and the exit doors now work with a toddler in your arms. While looking at a door, R puts the kid down; anywhere else, E or Q does. The only doors that ever stay shut are the staff room (needs a staff key), the front doors (until you've survived your nights) and the playground doors at night. |
560ec3f | 2026-09-13 | You can drop bag items. Q used to only put down big things held in your hands (fuel cans, spare parts); items in your bag could not be dropped at all. Now, with empty hands, Q drops the item in your selected hotbar slot (pick one with 1–6). Dropped items land in front of you only where there is open floor, otherwise at your feet, so they can never end up inside a wall or a desk. Dropping your only torch switches it off. You cannot drop things while hiding. |
89a410a | 2026-09-13 | Bug fixes: co-op jobs, stuck teachers, cutscene safety. A joiner getting lunch from Meredith (or passing Jerry's gym class) never reached the host, so joiners could not finish the "Lunch from Meredith" job — fixed. Grump and Bob can no longer catch a player who is in a minigame or the Big Boys Club cutscene. Jerry could stay frozen mid-class forever, and Meredith could stay stuck "serving" and never serve again, if a minigame was cut short — both fixed. Meredith now waits if Jerry is already running at you; Jerry gives up if the card boy turns up and disappears if the Big Boys Club scene starts. Drop, torch, R and hotbar keys no longer work during the cutscene (M and Tab still do). If Esc released the mouse during a minigame, the pause menu now appears afterwards so you can click Resume. |
78b81f5 | 2026-09-12 | Jerry the gym teacher, Meredith the lunch lady, and minigames. Added Jerry (red tracksuit, whistle) who runs at you during the day and forces one of three pop-up 2D minigames — Laps, Dumbbells, or Jump Rope (see Minigames). Added Meredith (hairnet, apron), who stands at the cafeteria counter all day and gives you a tray of lunch after a three-lane rhythm minigame, tray quality scaling with accuracy. Both appear on the map with legend entries. New "Lunch from Meredith" job on Mrs. Honeywell's list. Nothing hunts a player while they're in a minigame; solo pauses the world for it, co-op does not. Fixed a crash where silent sound effects threw a Web Audio error. The game now has 13 recorded voice lines (was 10). |
f23bc48 | 2026-09-12 | Big Boys Club cutscene: Grump stands up for you. Added a one-per-run cutscene, triggered on day 2 or 3 before Grump turns: three big kids from the top year corner you in a hallway, shove you, and mock Grump — who walks up, says "Why you being mean?", grows, and puts all three on the floor before they run off shouting "We're telling Mrs. Honeywell!" Letterboxed, camera-locked, local to each player. Lowers the real Grump's resentment by 20 and adds +50 score. See The Big Boys Club. |
5735ca2 | 2026-09-12 | Searching always works. Any searchable container can now be searched again and again the same day; each repeat search finds less (a normal roll on the first search, then a 45% / 20% / 9%… chance to keep whatever the roll finds on repeats). Aiming at furniture now checks the whole box from any side instead of one fixed point in front, so odd-shaped furniture like sandpits and lunch tables works from any angle. Holding E now keeps its original target, so a kid or Grump walking through your view no longer resets the hold bar. Toddlers, dropped items and messes sitting in front of furniture now correctly take the interaction prompt over the furniture behind them. In co-op, two players can search the same container at once. See Searching. |
df20bce | 2026-09-12 | Fixed friends walking backwards, short quest lists, Grump spawning in furniture. Co-op teammates' models were rotated 180° from the direction they were actually walking. Mrs. Honeywell's daily job list could come up short a job if it picked a job template that needed a room type the generated school didn't have (jobs now skip unavailable rooms while the list is being planned, instead of being dropped afterwards). Grump's morning wander spot and his "he is closer" night-start spot could land inside furniture or somewhere unreachable; both are now required to be clear of furniture and have a walkable path to your classroom, and the "closer" placement can no longer land him inside your own classroom. |
a84a5b6 | 2026-09-12 | Map, Mrs. Honeywell, power and quest fixes. Added Mrs. Honeywell as a real character (stands at the chalkboard, reads the day's list aloud, warns about a dark classroom) and a new minimap/full map. Fixed the generator wearing out about 6× too fast and stalling constantly, a prompt bug that hid the starter cord behind "Repair" when carrying a part, playground doors that never reopened after night 1, room-search jobs that could target rooms without enough to search, staff-room jobs needing a key that shouldn't have been required, light-switch jobs being impossible without power, and several co-op/prompt/UI bugs. |
d530adb | 2026-09-12 | Fix co-op, add daily quests and food, more nights, scarier Grump. Rewrote co-op so joiners' actions (fuel, repairs, cleaning, feeding, drops, Grump answers) actually reach the host instead of only existing on the joiner's own screen; fixed the host being unable to see joiners, damage always landing on the host, and several other multiplayer bugs. Added Mrs. Honeywell's daily job list with crib rewards, a hunger/food system, a 3/5/7/10/15/20/Endless night-count choice, difficulty settings, night twists from night 5, and a meaner turned Grump (charges on sight, camps hiding spots, pops bulbs, relocates, quotes your answers, jumpscares). |
d17832c | 2026-09-11 | Corrected the voice-line count quoted in the game's own README. |
f626910 | 2026-09-11 | Bob owns the nights; Grump turns on day 4. Pinned down exactly who is dangerous when: Bob patrols every night from night 1 on every difficulty and gets faster each night; Grump now turns on a fixed schedule (dawn of day 4) rather than purely on resentment, with a maxed resentment meter only able to bring that forward, never delay it. |
005e5dc | 2026-09-11 | Initial release. Grump the Baby Destroyer: a 3D survival-horror school game built with Three.js and PeerJS, fully static with no build step. The school is a pure function of a seed, so co-op only ever needs to send one number. |
