Meredith

Hairnet, apron, a ladle, and a smile that is genuinely pleased to see you. She stands at the serving counter in the cafeteria (or kitchen, if the school has no cafeteria) all day.

Getting lunch from her

Walk up and interact with her any time after the first 50 seconds of the day. If you haven't been served yet today, the prompt reads "Get lunch from Meredith" — taking it starts the lunch-line rhythm minigame (full mechanics on Minigames). Already been served? "Already had yours, sweetie! Tomorrow, same time." Too close to dark (last 50 seconds of the day)? "Kitchen's closing, hon. Get yourself somewhere safe."

Score is your hit rate in the rhythm game. However you did, you always get something — she never sends you away empty-handed. Items that don't fit in your bag are dropped on the floor near you instead. You also earn round(20 + score × 40) score for taking part, from 20 up to 60.

One tray a day

Each player can be served exactly once per day. The "Lunch from Meredith" job template on Mrs. Honeywell's list (see Mrs. Honeywell's Jobs) is satisfied by this same interaction — it only ever appears in a school that actually has a cafeteria or kitchen.

Voice acting

Her line, played when she hands you the tray: "Here's your reward for being so good at your quests. Have some lunch, kid!" One of the game's 14 recorded voice lines — see Voice Lines.

Local, like the other teachers

Like Mrs. Honeywell, Meredith lives entirely on each player's own machine — her position, hours and serving state never need to be sent over the network, since every player's copy of the school is identical.
